Big Bass Boat
Big Bass Boat is the kind of game I didn't expect to sink so many evenings into. You steer a small boat across a set of lakes, pick a spot, cast, and wait. The waiting sounds dull on paper but the game builds a nice rhythm — watching the line, feeling the tug, and reeling in with a simple drag-and-hold gesture that never fights you.
The controls are all touch and they're well thought out. One thumb handles the throttle to reposition the boat, and once you cast, everything happens with taps and swipes. There's a light progression system: new rods, better lures, and unlocking further lakes as you catch bigger species. It never pushes you, which is exactly why it works offline on a long trip.
Where it shines is the atmosphere. Morning fog, changing weather, and a soft ambient soundtrack make it feel less like a scoring game and more like a quiet hobby. I'd have liked a bit more variety in the fish behaviour, but for a relaxing offline sim it hits the mark.
